Directions: 

1. Go to Gmail and create a professional email address. (If you already have a Gmail that follows guidelines, you do not need to make another one.)

2. Create a Gmail account using your first and last name. Such as: DavidSmith or  David_Smith or David.Smith

• What if my name isn’t available? Can I use numbers and other letters? This definitely happens!

• The answer is yes, but first try to add a middle initial. David.N.Smith, DavidNSmith, DavidN_Smith

• If that doesn’t work, add a few digits to the end. But avoid SSN or birthdays.

Think about your yearbook picture and look at the pictures on the following pages. 

• Take a selfie or ask someone to take a picture of you. 

• Picture can be taken inside or outside

• Should be close enough to see your face

• You can still show your personality in the picture (see next page)! 

• Dress appropriately (you don’t need a suit to look professional) 

• No phone or mirror in the picture

• No funny faces (see below)

• This is not your social media account, keep it professional

Change the picture in your professional Gmail account and CCPS account.
